About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Linux System Engineer to join our infrastructure team as we scale a fast-growing, high-availability platform trusted by enterprise clients worldwide. You'll help define and implement AWS/cloud best practices, evaluate new approaches, and get hands-on with the implementation and continuous improvement of the systems that keep Xtremepush running securely and reliably at scale.
This is a highly collaborative role — you'll work closely with our Operations team internally, and you'll also engage directly with clients and third-party vendors, so comfort communicating technical detail clearly to non-technical and external stakeholders is essential.
We're looking for someone proactive and driven, who enjoys getting into the detail of complex, large-scale technical problems and seeing solutions through end to end.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Operations team to maintain and scale production infrastructure
- Install, monitor, and maintain hardware and software across our environments
- Write scripts to automate jobs and processes
- Own the security, stability, and uptime of production, staging, and development environments
- Monitor systems and respond to alerts as they arise day to day
- Take part in an on-call rota for priority-1 alerts alongside the rest of the Ops team
- Maintain network, server, and storage assets across our cloud environments
- Drive ongoing upgrades and improvements to infrastructure and processes
- Contribute to planning application and infrastructure releases and configuration changes
- Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors — troubleshooting and resolving complex issues with clarity and confidence

- Experience deploying and debugging complex applications

- Confidence engaging directly with clients — able to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to a non-technical audience
